Course:
Nitrox Diver
Introduction:
This is an entry level certification course for recreational divers
wishing to utilize enriched air nitrox (EAN) as a breathing gas
Minimum
Age: 15 years old
Minimum
course hours: 4 hours minimum
Minimum
Number of Dives: 2 Nitrox dives recommended (but not required)
Student
to Instructor in Water Ratio: 8 to 1 maximum
Prerequisite
Certification: Basic diver certification and 10 logged dives or
current enrollment in diver certification course
Course
Objectives: To train divers in the benefits, possible hazards,
and proper procedures for using nitrox mixes from 22% to 40% oxygen
content.
Qualification
of Graduates: Upon successful completion of this course, graduates
may engage in diving activities utilizing EAN 22 to EAN 40 without
direct supervision. And are qualified to enroll in the following
courses: Advanced Nitrox Diver, Decompression Procedures Diver,
and Semi-closed Rebreather Diver

This
is an entry-level certification course for recreational divers wishing

The
typical course schedule is:
Day # 1 - A half-day in the classroom in the morning, then in to
the water to make the 2 dives in the afternoon.
The
Dives are normally done in front of the Dive Shop you are diving
with, in your own dive equipment.
A Nitrox Dive Computer will be supplied for the dives so you can
compare your Dive Computer to the Nitrox Dive Computer.
This
will enable you to see the big difference diving Nitrox makes on
your no decompression time.
